I am privileged and honoured to have been asked to direct ‘HATING ALISON ASHLEY’.
As a director I was an extremely lucky man. First of all, I started with a SCRIPT that was full of humour, heart and soul.
I had the PERFECT CAST - people with imagination, enormous faith in me and an unconditional will to give.
I had the FINEST CREW assembled - from the men and women in the office to the unit managers, caterers, nurses, Art department, wardrobe, props, camera crew, grips, gaffers and AD’s all led by the fearless JC - what a team!
It was hard work. Almost impossible at times. Often it felt like the world was against us. People got sick - from poisonous tick bites, toothache, sunstroke, black outs and flu. The weather was against us, the powers that be tried to sabotage us, but nothing could stop us from making a great film.
Which couldn’t have been what it is wihout the editors, sound editors and composer in POST PRODUCTION.
All I had to do to make this project work was say ACTION! and CUT!.
I hope the film makes you laugh till you’re sick and cry till it hurts.
Good luck and LOVE to all,
GEOFF BENNETT.
