So what was the long and winding road that led me to Art Department Co-Ordinator on HAA...? Once upon a time way back in 1990 you would have found me in semi-professional theatre helping the co-operative theatre company “Hoy Polloy Theatre Productions” get going, must have done a good job 'cause it's still operating today!
Next came casting extras for television commercials and corporate videos, which was great as I got many of my theatre mates paid gigs!
Then it was off overseas and Hospitality Manager at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 1995 and 1997 in Scotland which was both exhilarating and terrifying! Back to Melbourne and a stint co-ordinating the St Kilda Film Festival before moving into Art Department Co-ordination in 1998 working on the first two series of Stingers.
Since then I have worked on a CBS movie of the week , several Aussie feature films, including “Strange Bedfellows” starring Paul Hogan, which we shot in a small country town called Yackandandah in 2003, ”You and Your Stupid Mate” starring Rachel Hunter (yes, Rod Stewart’s wife!). Early 2004 was Hating Alison Ashley and I’m now working in the Special Effects department of a huge American feature called “Ghostrider” starring Nicolas Cage.

My real passion? - Writing - I have been developing a 13 part melodrama for TV over the last year and hope to get it off the ground sooner than later!
Career advice? - Do what you’re passionate about... and if you can’t – try to do whatever you are doing to the best of your capabilities! - and mix it up – variety in your work-life is great too! |
