Shooting beer is a tricky process. First lighting the beer necessitates having light pass through the liquid from the back. Have a black background specified makes this even trickier.

Then a head must be generated and maintained. It only lasts a few seconds. Since using sheet film is a slow process, shooting 4x5 means the beer must be poured many times, the glass cleaned as well as the set up.
