Interior Food Photography.

In my editorial work I like to shoot either outside using available light or inside using window light. But sometimes, perhaps due to bad weather or physical restrictions, I am forced to shoot inside. This is not always a bad option. Sometimes the interior reeks with atmosphere and texture. But it means that artificial lighting is necessary. This may be flash or tungsten and is usually used in conjunction with available light to retain ambiance. In editorial work, invariably we have to shoot between meals and when the staff are at work in the kitchens. Photography shoots are almost always disruptive to both the staff and the patrons. Seldom is there enough time to groom the shot the way one might prefere. This work incorporates the demands of the fast, "fly by the seat of your pants" characteristic inherant in photo journalism with the lighting and technical demands of studio photography all done quick as a flash. |
