GourmetVoyageurs is a high end e-magazine for high end travelers who care about really fine food and where to stay in comfort and luxury to enjoy it, especially those who travel with small dogs and other pets.

We actually own, write, photograph and product this site ourselves calling on our years of experience as food and travel photographers coupled with my background in journalism.

The site is designed to use a light amount of graphic images to aid in down load since photography is extensively used. However, again to aid in down load, the photos are first used small but provided with "zoom+" capability so that they can be clicked for large versions. The detail of the food on the plate is very important to the site and visitors. This is a feature of most of the sites we design.

We must assume, unless research indicates otherwise, that at least half of the visitors will still be on dial up and down load time is still very important. So not only must large graphic and photo files must be kept to the minimum possible and as small as possible allowing the full page to load a quickly as possible. Then, if the visitor wants to see more, they can make the decision to access more information or visuals. This puts the site under their control.

This is an editorial site. The final story is long, much too long to put up right up front. So we provide information in bite sizes first, then if the visitor is interested they can click to further layers for increasingly large amounts of information depending on how much time they want to spend.

So they are never overwhelmed with large amounts of information to wade through but it is there if they want it. And we put that under their control.
