Peter D'Aprix is an award winning advertising and journalistic photographer who tends to pick up a camera only when he received a signed check to shoot someone else's vision.

Peter views technique as an essential tool to achieve his photographic results, but not an end it itself as , in this technically complex age, often tends to be the case.

In these workshops, he has responded to requests from many of his friends and associates who are having to wrestle with the digital age which has swept us all up in its overwhelming maw.

Whether the requests come from friends who are trying to unravel their family snaps or from associates who have to take pictures as part of their working life and are spending much to much of their valuable time, getting frustrated and ending up with dissappointing results that show little ROI, he has decided to make his available in the form of "hands on" workshops.

Photo Peter DAPRIX

Peter D’Aprix is an award winning photographer who has worked for over 35 years in editorial and advertising photography as well as beauty and fashion in the US and in England and France.

With a background in both photo-journalism, which focuses on telling a story as it plays out before you, as well as advertising and commercial photogrpahy which aims at total control and immaculate lighting whether available light, created lighting in the studio or, very often, a combination of the two.

He has taught at his alma mata The Los Angeles Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara and UCSB adult education.

With his wife Linda, he publishes a high end food and travel e-magzine, GourmetVoyageurs.com, which calls for photo stories using available light photography of food, people and hotels, restaurants and their properties as well as markets and all the producers of food in each region. He shoots digitally exclusively for the magazine and has encounted every photographic problem possible. He finds that digital gives him so much post production control, that he is able to obtain images that he would never be able to capture with film.

He brings all this expertise both shooting and then working with the digital images back in his computer lab afterwards to this series of workshops.
